Auditions
Auditions are required for membership in any of our choirs, and we encourage all to try out! We have many members that have been in TMEA All-State choirs, many members that were in band, and some that have never sung in a choir before and just enjoy singing and performing! If you are interested in setting up an audition, please give us a call or come by the CAO.
All groups hold auditions at the beginning of every semester. In addition, Singing Cadets hold auditions throughout the summer, and Women’s Chorus holds auditions during the summer on Pre-Conference days at 5:30pm and by appointment during New Student Conferences.
No preparation is required for the auditions. An audition consists of vocalizing to determine range, singing My Country, ‘Tis of Thee (music provided), and simple sight-reading. Auditions are conducted by the director of the choir for which you are auditioning.
Visit the Choral Activities Office (MSC L110) or call 979-845-5974 before or during the audition dates to schedule an audition time.
